Role Details:
Reporting to the onsite Head Chef and Catering leadership team on site these roles are not cooking in the same old kitchens. We have an opportunity for the right candidates to do it differently. To deliver innovative, on trend food to hundreds of residents in our remote villages.
You will still be required to deliver food safely as food safety is non-negotiable and you must have a commitment to meeting all food safety obligations. In addition, you must have a commitment to the workplace being safe and ensure you with your team are working safely at all times.
As a Chef in our ISS catering team, you will assist in all food operations within the Village including breakfast, take away lunches and Dinner service. The goal is to exceed customer expectations delivering to a healthy, delicious and innovative food offering, whilst being in line with contractual requirements.
What we are looking for:
- Australian Trade Certification or Cert III in Commercial Cookery (essential) or a comprehensive international portfolio of experience with international qualifications.
- High volume catering, including bulk catering and function/banquet experience &/or a la carte experience in high volume venues/restaurants/hotels.

Job Description
Due to operational growth, we are recruiting for Offshore Chef /Cooks to join the Sodexo Oil and Gas on a casual basis to support the increase in operational requirements.
The point of hire as Perth, Western Australia, successful candidates will be deployed to various offshore operations within Sodexo's Oil & Gas portfolio across varied clients and rostering requirement. Working in a team environment, you will be required to demonstrate skills in a bulk cooking setting working across various functions within catering.
Who are we looking for?
You will have previous experience in offshore or mining environment and exposure to following HACCP guidelines. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Sous Chef with a passion for food and the ability to think outside the box to become part of the Sodexo Team in a leadership role within our Catering department supporting the Head Chef with running a remote, site-based catering operation.
Duties
- Coordinate and support staff in maintaining a customer-focused, secure and safe working environment in catering operations
- Responsible for food service across breakfast, crib and dinner with a focus on providing food to the highest of standards
- Run daily pre-start checks for the Team
- Responsible for maintaining a strong safety culture in the kitchen
- Supporting the Head Chef in leading and motivating the Team
Who are we looking for?
Ideally you would remain calm and focused in high pressure environments, have excellent time management skills, work well in a team and autonomously and have a passion for food. In addition to this the requirements for the role are as follows;
- Trade Certificate, Cert III orCert IV in Commercial Cookery
- Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or full work rights
- Excellent knowledge of HACCP
- Experience in a high-pressure, high-volume environment is desirable
- Flexibility to work a variety of rosters and shifts
- Previous experience in a similar role is desirable
- FIFO experience desirable
- Bulk cooking experience is essential
