The Opportunity
Mineral Resources is actively seeking experienced Boilermakers to join our team for an upcoming Greenfields construction project in the Pilbara.The project involves the development of an iron ore crushing and screening processing plant, along with all necessary non-processing infrastructure required to support the operation. This includes an accommodation village, on-site office complex, fuel farm, vehicle wash-down bays, and heavy vehicle maintenance workshops.
What you will be doing:
Reporting through to the Supervisor, some of your duties will include:
- Ensure safety protocols and procedures are strictly adhered to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
- Read, interpret, and install structures and mechanical equipment in accordance with P&ID drawings and structural marking plans
- Assemble prefabricated metal parts into large structures on-site.
- Perform welding techniques such as MMAW (Manual metallic arc welding) and MIG (Metal inert gas) welding
- Welding fixings and brackets to steel structures. (You must be able to pass welding tests for structural steel in accordance with AS 1554 part 1)
- Welding and joining handrails and grating inside steel structures.
- Repair cracked or damaged components caused by transport or unloading activities.
- Assisting mechanical fitting teams with installing conveyor idlers, hard skirts and dust covers
- Collaborate and effectively communicate with other team members, including mechanical fitters, electricians, and rigging teams

Boilermaker (Heavy mobile equipment)
The Opportunity
CITIC Pacific Mining is seeking an experienced Boilermaker to join our HME team on a permanent 2/1 continuous shift roster (days & nights), FIFO ex Perth.
Reporting to the Supervisor – Fabrication, this role is responsible for the general fabrication and boilermaker repairs on Graders, Dump Trucks, Dozers, Excavators, Wheel Loaders, and Drills.
In this role you’ll be responsible for:
- Maintaining a safe and clean workplace.
- Inspecting and repair shovel buckets.
- Refurbishment of Dump Truck trays
- Adhering to company policy and procedures
- Attending and participate in HME safety meetings.
- Maintaining all mobile plant equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Completing all preventative maintenance scheduled checks and adjustments of equipment.
Successful applicant will have:
- Current WA HR drivers’ licence is essential
- Current HRWL containing LF, WP, DG, Working at Heights & Confined Space ticket
- Good understanding of Heavy Mobile Equipment Boilermaking and Fabrication
- Experience with multiple welding processes, Innersheid welding (232,233,XLR-8), Flux cored wires (3XP-H4, 71-EH, 81ni etc.) and air-arc gouging.
- Previous mining/resources industry (Heavy mobile equipment) experience
- Engineering tradesperson qualification – Fabrication (Boilermaker/Welder)

ABOUT THE ROLE
This role will be based at our Worsley Alumina Refinery which is a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (35 minutes – bus available from Bunbury location only) and other nearby scenic communities. As there is no accommodation on site, you will be required to drive in, drive out on a daily basis. Employees ideally live within an hour’s drive of Collie.
This is a Dayshift role working Monday-Thursday 10-hour days. There may be requirements to provide night shift outage support, and the opportunity to complete additional shifts, so flexibility is crucial to the successful applicant.
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor as a Boilermaker/Welder the purpose of this role is to safely execute maintenance work within an operation area as per SAP processes, maintenance schedules and work instructions as directed by the Supervisor Maintenance. This role will be offered on aPermanent basis.
Key responsibilities are, but not limited to:
- Demonstrate commitment and conformance to safe work practices and procedures
- Ensure compliance to the SAP process for work execution and capture related transactional data into the SAP system
- Execute work orders as per schedule and relevant work instructions as directed by the supervisor maintenance or superintendent maintenance
- Ensure work is done to the highest standard and history is recorded in SAP notifications for future reference
- Provide input into root cause analysis and subsequent resolution of issues affecting equipment reliability
- Ensure adequate scoping of corrective work to facilitate the planning process
- Actively support and apply the company’s continuous improvement principles to minimize cost, maximize production
- Maintain their welding qualifications as per the Worsley Standard and as per the area specific needs
