We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Exploration Geologist with outstanding leadership skills to join our Geology team at Sunrise Dam.
This is a permanent position based on an 8/6 roster with flights out to Perth and/or Kalgoorlie.
Accountable to the Superintendent: Surface Exploration, you will supervise a small team of Exploration Geologists within a large on-site exploration team. A role which is critical in prioritising and advancing exploration targets and known surface resources by leveraging geological, geophysical and geochemical data.
The position is also crucial in assisting and executing on the strategic planning and surface near mine exploration activities within the Sunrise Dam Gold Mine leases with a focus on resource definition and growth. A key focus is on growing a pipeline of open-pit operations to address the ore shortfall between the 4MTPA processing plant and underground operations.
You will be required to supervise and maintain a small skilled surface exploration team within a large mine exploration team, ensuring alignment with corporate strategies such as Exploration for Value (E4V).
Accountabilities

Lead and oversee the implementation of SHE&C plans, management systems, and compliance processes within exploration, ensuring a safe and sustainable work environment.

Champion and drive a strong safety culture by leading safety initiatives, mentoring team members, and embedding risk management practices within the exploration team

Provide strategic oversight of surface and open-pit resource development plans, ensuring consistent and predictable resource inventory delivery to support mine planning and execution.

Over-see the development and execution of exploration strategies to test the Mine Lease gold potential, optimising resources for maximum value creation.

Ensure all rehabilitation of surface exploration is completed in the required timeframes, ensuring communication and approvals are completed and upheld with land access, heritage and government departments.

Access and recommend Inorganic opportunities surrounding SDGM mining leases.

Develop and strengthen organisational capability (people & processes) for the exploration work group.

Own and drive the annual surface exploration budget deliverables in line with the business plan.

Enhance operational efficiency by continuously improving processes, systems, and workflows within the Surface Exploration work group to maximize effectiveness and cost efficiency.

Conduct high-level performance analysis, proactively identifying risks and barriers to plan and budget delivery, and providing solutions to management.

Collaborate with senior leadership at Sunrise Dam and across the Australian Region to drive cross-functional alignment and share insights.
About you

- Minimum 5 years geology experience, ideally with some experience in a supervisory role.
- Bachelor degree in Geoscience.
- Experience in Brownfields exploration in an operating mine, with experience in Greenfields and Mine Geology desirable
- Experience in government regulations and approvals for exploration and mining leases.
- Good understanding of orogenic gold deposits, structural geology and exploration targeting.
- Some experience in geophysical techniques and interpretation preferred.
- Proficient in geological software – preferably Vulcan, Leapfrog and Datashed
- Experience in core processing techniques, sampling techniques, drilling techniques and geological modelling.
- Highly collaborative communication skills.
- High level planning and organisation skills.

Your role:
Reporting to the Senior Mine Geologist, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality geology services while working closely with the Mining Team to maximise operational efficiency and ore recovery. This includes:
- Assist with diamond core logging of underground grade control and exploration programs;
- Support the Mining Team in maximising ore recovery and minimising dilution;
- Collect and analyse underground grade control data (face mapping, face sampling, core logging) in preparation for block modelling;
- Assist with underground diamond drill rig management;

- End of day reporting for all Geotechnical activities and compliance against schedule.
- Review and update the Ground Control Management Plan (GCMP).
- Contribute to the development of geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring system for mining activities.
To thrive in this role you'll need:
- Tertiary Qualifications in Geotechnical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Current "C" Class Western Australian Drivers Licence (Manual).
- Experience with mine design software - Deswik.
- Underground geotechnical experience in a mechanised hard-rock underground mine.
- Good communication skills.
- Flexibility to adapt to improved procedures and practices.
- St Johns Senior First Aid certificate (desirable).

About the Role
The Mine Geology Department of BHP Western Australia Iron Ore is looking for a Senior Geologist to join the Tactical Modelling team.
Reporting to the Superintendent of Tactical Modelling, you will join a committed team responsible for the update and delivery of resource models used to inform the short to medium term mine plans. The position is based in Perth and offers flexible working arrangements between the Perth office and home. The role also includes occasional site visits, typically lasting 1-2 days.
About You
The successful candidate will play a key role in the Tactical Modelling team. To perform well in this role, the candidate should possess the following attributes:
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience in geological modelling and grade control modelling or resource estimation.
- Demonstrated proficiency with industry-standard mining software applications, i.e.. Vulcan and Leapfrog.
- Understands quantitative methods for communicating geological uncertainty, risk, and opportunity
- Experience in iron ore is preferred; however, substantial experience in other commodities will also be regarded favourably.
- Proficient in data assessment with an ability to interpret complex datasets.
- Demonstrates problem-solving skills to resolve tasks efficiently and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

About the role:

Due to an early available opening, we are currently sourcing for a motivated Graduate Geologist - Production, to start at our Tropicana Gold Mine to commence within the next few months. This on a site-based 8/6 rosterfrom Perth.
Reporting to the Senior Mine Geologist, the purpose of the role is to assist the Mine Geology team with all aspects of underground and/or open pit production activities, including grade control, data validation, liaising with contractors, inspection and monitoring of mining activities. This role is intended as a career development pathway into a Mine Geologist position.
The main duties will include:
- Provide support to the Mine Geologists in short term grade control processes through effective monitoring of grade control drilling, mining and material movement.
- Complete ore-waste designation and production tracking as directed by the Senior Mining Geologist
- Assist with and undertake mapping as directed by the Senior Mining Geologist
- Validation of daily material movement data with regards to loading and haulage.
- Assist with Grade Control drilling, sample collection and data entry.
- Enter sampling, survey and mapping data into the database accurately and in a timely manner.
- Help with the management of underground and surface stockpiles.
- Ensure effective communication is maintained with mining contractors and AngloGold Ashanti staff.
- Maintain the department vehicles and equipment.
- Identify, assess and manage risks to improve reliability, quality and confidence of operational performance for the Grade Control Definition process
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the team by constructively identifying opportunities and testing solutions.

Accountable to the OP Senior Mine Geologist. This role is based at the Sunrise Dam Mine on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth or Kalgoorlie.

We are currently seeking a Superintendent : Geotechnical Services for our Sunrise Dam Gold Mine. Reporting to the Manager: Technical Services, this position is offered primarily on a FIFO 4 days on/3 days off roster while occasional 8/6 swings will be required; with flights provided from Perth and/or Kalgoorlie.
The Role Purpose
The Geotechnical Superintendent manages all geotechnical considerations of current and proposed excavations to ensure safe production, optimising processes and strategies required to adequately assess geotechnical risk and leading the geotechnical team supporting underground and open pit operations. Working within the broader Planning, Technical and Operational Team, the Geotechnical Superintendent provides geotechnical leadership for the Sunrise Dam Gold Mine (SDGM) operations. Managing a diverse and dynamic team within an autonomous work environment, your leadership skills and collaborative approach will enable you to work across disciplines to align the mining team on geotechnical recommendations.
Accountabilities:
- Enable, co-ordinate and facilitate the development of geotechnical strategies which will optimise the productivity and profitability of SDGM mining operations
- Focus on safety, compliance and continuous improvement whilst being a capable mentor and leader to a small team
- Develop, implement, and maintain procedures, standards, processes that provide effective systems of work for the provision of an effective geotechnical service

- Ensure validation and interpretation of the geotechnical database through ongoing data collection and evaluation, to maintain existing models
- Establish and embed the upgrade of the sites seismic monitoring system, as well as interpretation of the seismic activity reports and the development of seismic hazard management plans

The Project Geologist plays a key role in supporting the Senior Resource Definition Geologist in delivering critical mining plans. This role involves designing and executing drilling programs to support both short-term (two-year) and long-term (ten-year) mine plans. Additionally, the Project Geologist is responsible for coordinating near-mine exploration activities aimed at identifying new mining opportunities near existing operations. The role also involves providing guidance and daily support to rig geologists to ensure the success of drilling operations.
