This role Graduate Engineer Mechanical/Electrical is a Permanent full-time position that is DIDO daily, to and from our Worsley Alumina Refinery, which is a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (45 minutes) and other nearby scenic communities.

We are now seeking a Production Assistant to join our Mine Geology team at Tropicana Gold Mine.
Reporting to the Senior Mine Geologist, you will assist Mine Geologists with all aspects of underground production activities including grade control, data validation, liaising with contractors, conducting inspections and monitoring of mining activities.
This is a site-based role on an 8/6 roster from Perth or Kalgoorlie.
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring ore mining activities, identifying and communicating issues affecting quality of ore mining methods
- Validation of daily material movement data with regards to loading, haulage and ROM transfer
- Liaising with mining contractors on production reporting data, data QAQC and validation
- Providing interface between production and geology department
- Managing underground and MOP stockpiles
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the team by constructively identifying opportunities and testing solutions
About You

About the Opportunity
Maintenance Traineeships are a 12 month training program based at the academy in Forrestfield. Trainees study to become skilled Maintenance Associates with BHP, completing a Certificate II in Engineering – Production Technology.
Our Traineeships will provide you with exciting opportunities including:

Learning about the equipment that we use to mine commodities. Some equipment you will learn about are; Bulldozers, Graders, Loaders, Excavators and Dump Trucks.

Performing a variety of tasks such as; inspections, servicing, diagnostics and repairs on large mining equipment and components.

Participating in a mixture of classroom and theory learning, as well as practical workshop training. You will learn to interpret mechanical drawings, the basics of hydraulics and about the variety of tools we use to maintain these machines.

Paid training which is undertaken at our training academy in Perth. While training you will be working a roster of 7 Days / 7 Off / 7 Nights / 7 Off, day shift hours are 6am to 4:30pm and night shift hours are 1:30pm to 12:00am.
The Perth academy is currently offering Heavy Diesel Traineeship roles to commence in September & October 2025.

Trainee Geology Assistant
Gruyere Gold Mine, a Gold Fields and Gold Road Resources Joint Venture (50/50) is located in the Yamarna Greenstone Belt in Western Australia. Gruyere was commissioned in 2019 and is one of Australia's largest and lowest cost gold mining operations boasting a plant production of 300,000+ ounces per annum with an enviable production profile in excess of 10 years.
Role Details:
Reporting to Senior Operator: Pit, your main responsibility will be to provide quality mine geology services and work collaboratively with the broader Mining Team to maximise return from the open pit operation.

About the role:
Geology Assistants perform a wide variety of tasks to support the Geology and Mining operations on site. These include:
- Completing ore mark ups – utilising a backpack sprayer and rock ink to demarcate ore and waste zones on the ground
- Ore spotting
- Collecting samples from open pit floor and stockpiles
- Diamond drill core processing, cutting and sampling
- Working alongside RC drill rigs to conduct sampling
- Maintaining stock levels and equipment
- Washing and detailing vehicles
- Helping other departments as required
- Using computers – systems such as MS Excel and other industry software (training provided)
- Walking on uneven ground
- Working around large open pit mobile plant machinery such as dump trucks, dozers, excavators
- Working in all-weather elements – in particular the heat during Summer
- Working in a small team – 4-5 Geology Assistants + Senior Pit Operator on each crew
Training and development for the role is offered on site and the role is mostly outdoor manual labour type work.
This role is offered on an initial 12-month fixed term contract basis, with the view it would lead to a permanent position after successfully completing the trainee program. It is offered on an 8 days on 6 days off roster and is Fly in Fly out from Perth or Drive in Drive out from the Goldfields region.
About you:
- You will have experience working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- You will hold a valid Driver’s Licence
