Diesel Fitter

About the role

The Diesel Fitter – Mobile Maintenance is responsible for performing planned and reactive maintenance activities safely and effectively across the site’s mobile maintenance fleet. Working as part of the Mobile Maintenance team, you will support reliable equipment performance through quality maintenance, fault finding, and field work across underground and surface operations.

This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical capability, a proactive safety mindset, and the ability to contribute to a high-performing maintenance team.

Key responsibilities for the role include:

• Carrying out routine maintenance, repairs, servicing and field work on mobile equipment
• Maintaining and repairing a range of mining equipment including Normet, Volvo and Sandvik loaders, and Sandvik development and production drills
• Interpreting hydraulic and auto-electrical schematics and associated diagnostic software
• Developing technical knowledge to identify and support asset and maintenance improvement opportunities
• Following correct procedures for costing parts and labour and contributing to budget adherence
• Identifying hazards and managing risks using PTRAs, JSEAs and formal risk assessments
• Maintaining compliance with health, safety, statutory, regulatory and licensing requirements
• Contributing positively to team performance, safety culture and continuous improvement initiatives

About you

You are a trade-qualified Diesel Fitter with strong diagnostic and troubleshooting capability and a commitment to working safely in a mining environment. You take ownership of your work, communicate effectively, and perform well under pressure as part of a team focused on quality and reliability.

• You hold recognised Diesel Fitter trade certificate
• Have a current manual driver’s licence
• Possess strong problem-solving, fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Can make sound decisions, meet deadlines, and work autonomously when required
• You have positive attitude and commitment to being part of a high-performing maintenance team
