About the role

We are looking for a Supervisor Plant Shutdowns to join our Pilbara Mine Operations. You will Lead, mentor, coach and develop the Fixed Plant Shutdown team including providing regular performance feedback. Provide leadership in safely executing Fixed Plant Shutdown activities at a site level ensuring team performance is in line with short term objectives.

Reporting to the Superintendent Plant Shutdowns, you will:

  • Lead the shutdown team and contracting partners through the full shutdown lifecycle — including planning, staging, execution and close‑out — ensuring compliance with RT Shutdown Procedures and statutory obligations.
  • Actively foster a strong safety culture by monitoring work practices, promoting safe behaviours and ensuring adherence to WHS (Mines) Regulations and Rio Tinto standards.
  • Organise and manage the preparation and safe execution of Fixed Plant Shutdown work, coordinating resources, schedules and priorities to deliver efficient and reliable outcomes.
  • Support, coach and mentor team members to achieve performance, safety and productivity targets while identifying development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders across operations, supply chain and maintenance to ensure safe delivery of shutdown and production targets with minimal disruption.
  • Allocate and coordinate planned and unplanned operational activities to maintain safe, reliable plant performance.
  • Champion continuous improvement by identifying, evaluating and implementing enhancements to shutdown practices, work management processes and plant performance.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to employees and contractors, ensuring quality work execution and alignment with Key Performance Indicators

What you’ll bring

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • Demonstrated experience in Fixed Plant operations with a proven track record in managing shutdown activities or delivering complex projects in similar operational environments.
  • A proactive leader committed to the safety of both myself and my team, consistently driving a strong and positive safety culture.
  • Contractor management experience
  • Computer literacy, Outlook, Excel, Word and SAP maintenance system
  • A clear understanding of  work management process and principles
  • A Current  Western Australian ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence (Manual)
  • Statutory Position Legal Exam – Statutory Supervisor S26
