Your new company
Join a major underground mining operation currently undergoing significant expansion and mine ‑ life extension works. With a well ‑ established maintenance and projects team already in place, the site is scaling up to support a large program of capital works, infrastructure upgrades and new underground development. Due to this growth, opportunities now exist for experienced Mechanical and Electrical Supervisors to step into key frontline leadership roles.
Your new role
As a Supervisor, you will provide critical day ‑ to ‑ day leadership across underground mechanical or electrical work fronts. Working closely with senior site leaders, you will oversee crews, allocate daily tasks, support contractor performance and ensure all maintenance and project activities are delivered safely and efficiently.
You will also play a key role across major capital works, including a new vent shaft, structural remediation, new underground mining areas, and a high volume of small ‑ to ‑ medium project packages.
Mechanical Supervisor duties include:
- Supervising underground mechanical project and maintenance activities
- Delivering daily work plans and coordinating resources
- Managing contractors and supporting project schedules
- Leading and mentoring mechanical trades and apprentices
Electrical Supervisor duties include:
- Leading underground electrical crews across maintenance and project scopes
- Ensuring all electrical work meets underground standards and compliance requirements
- Coordinating daily electrical tasks and supporting expansion works
- Providing technical guidance and mentoring to electricians and apprentices
Roster options include 8/6 FIFO or DIDO from Townsville, Brisbane or Cairns.
What you'll need to succeed
Mechanical Supervisor:
- Underground mining experience (essential)
- Mechanical trade qualification (Fitter, Boilermaker, Heavy Mechanical)
- Demonstrated experience supervising mechanical teams underground
- Strong communication, safety focus and ability to manage multiple work fronts
Electrical Supervisor:
- Electrical trade qualification + LVR/CPR
- Underground electrical experience (essential)
- Experience supervising electrical crews or project teams underground
- Understanding of underground electrical systems & ventilation impacts
Both roles:
- Current Supervisor Competencies (S123 / G2) or willingness to obtain
- Strong coordination, planning and contractor management capability
- Ability to support expansion works and internal backfill requirements
