Supervisor Belt Maintenance

Our Opportunity

Fortescue is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Supervisor to lead and support our Belt Maintenance team at Eliwana. Reporting to the Superintendent, this position is a key leadership role responsible for leading and mentoring a team of Belt Splicers to safely carry out shutdown preparation and execution as well maintaining, repairing and improving conveyor systems and equipment.

• Work Location: Eliwana - Fortescue’s Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama people.
• Roster: 8D/6R – FIFO ex Perth

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the belt crew maintaining a high focus on safety whilst leading by example and displaying the core values.
• Shutdown preparation, execution and supervision of shutdown belt teams.
• Respond to breakdowns as required.
• Provide on job support and coaching to personnel.
• Carry out steel cord & fabric conveyor belt splicing and repairs including all aspects of conveyor system maintenance.
• Hazard identification and rectification

Qualifications and Experience

• Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work under pressure.
• S26 - Statutory Supervisor.
• Level 3 Belt Splicing Qualification or equivalent.
• Significant experience in large scale conveyor change outs, set up and execution.
• Knowledge and experience in computer maintenance management systems (SAP, PDS)
• Significant experience in a shutdown environment and fixed plant continuous processing plant.
• Good verbal, written and computer skills alongside sound problem solving and analytical skills
