The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Maintenance Superintendent to oversee the safe, efficient, and reliable maintenance execution across one of our lithium operations. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership, organisational and communication skills, with a strong focus on equipment reliability, continuous improvement, and team performance. This is a permanent full-time role on an 8D 6RR roster.
Your primary responsibilities
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless coordination and communication.
- Manage plant shutdowns and breakdowns efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption and prioritising safety.
- Ensure compliance with operational and safety standards.
- Provide leadership in planning, organising, and delegating workloads.
- Support budgeting processes and financial oversight when required.
- Communicate clear and specific responsibilities, discuss leadership expectations, and identify support and resources to meet these requirements.
- Report any issues that impact or have the potential to impact production outcomes, escalating critical issues as per reporting protocols.
- Address and resolve any logistical issues or emergencies that may arise.
- Foster a positive work environment, promoting teamwork and high morale utilizing the teams diverse skills and talents.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on maintenance performance, asset reliability, and operational efficiency.
What is required?
- Trade-qualified, preferably with a mechanical or electrical background.
- Strong experience in maintenance leadership, including shutdown and breakdown management within a mining, processing, or heavy industrial environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong understanding of industry regulations, maintenance systems, and safety standards.
- Excellent leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and supervise a team effectively.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience working within a mining or mineral processing operation, preferably in lithium or other resource sectors.
- Current working rights in Australia.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Schedule 26.
