Job Description
As our Granny Smith Mobile Maintenance team grows, we’re building capability with 2 x additional Leading Hand Fitter roles – 1 x role on an 8/6 days only roster and 1 x role on an 8/6 7/7 rotating days and nights roster. You will lead from the front, driving performance, upholding strong safety standards and mentoring and developing the crew within a well-supported, established operation.

About the Role
- Overseeing daily activities and allocating tasks to the maintenance team and contractors, ensuring cost efficiency and timely completion of tasks while actively contributing to their completion
- Providing field support, guidance, and leadership on safety, work management, troubleshooting, fault finding, and quality of work
- Ensuring timely execution of daily and weekly maintenance schedules, while maintaining compliance with work management procedures
- Meeting maintenance targets by performing inspections, servicing, adjustments, troubleshooting, and repairs on mobile equipment
- Monitor team performance and proactively enhance the overall capability of the team
- Supporting the training and mentoring of apprentices and trainees, while supervising contractors
- Maintaining equipment across multiple departments and sites, including mining, technical services, and infrastructure
- Helping develop and implement maintenance procedures, processes, and technology to ensure safe and efficient asset operation, providing input based on prior experience
- Driving innovation and continuous improvement within the team
Skills & Qualifications
- Australian recognised Heavy Mechanical Trade Qualification
- Schedule 26 Statutory Supervisor – desirable
- Automotive Air Conditioning Licence – desirable
- High Risk Licences – Forklift, EWP, Basic Rigging and Dogging
- Valid WA Manual Driver’s Licence (minimum)
- Working knowledge of SAP deemed advantageous
- Proven leadership capability in an underground mining environment, with a focus on developing and mentoring crews
- Experience coordinating work, allocating resources and managing shift priorities
- Ability to lead by example, maintaining high standards of safety and quality
- Hands-on experience with underground mining equipment (Epiroc, CAT, Sandvik etc)
- Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
