Your impact
As a Service Technician, you will support the reliability and performance of Newmont’s mining fleet through planned servicing, preventative maintenance and equipment inspections.
This role focuses on routine servicing and field support activities across the Mining Mobile Fleet to ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently. Working closely with the Maintenance team, you will play an important role in maintaining equipment availability and supporting safe, reliable operations.
As part of our team you will
· Carry out planned servicing and preventative maintenance activities across the mining mobile fleet
· Conduct routine inspections, oil sampling and fluid servicing of mobile equipment
· Identify and report equipment defects or maintenance requirements to the maintenance team
· Ensure all work is completed in accordance with site safety systems and procedures
· Complete field-level risk assessments, job hazard analysis and permit requirements
· Support safe and efficient servicing activities in the field
· Liaise with warehouse and tool store teams to source parts, tooling and consumables
· Raise requisitions and complete service documentation where required
· Complete work orders, time confirmations and maintenance records with appropriate detail
· Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that support safe and reliable operations
Prerequisites for your success in the role
· Previous experience in a mobile fleet servicing, service truck or maintenance support role within mining or heavy industry
· Experience conducting routine servicing and preventative maintenance on large mobile equipment
· Current C-Class Driver’s Licence
· Experience operating CAT 773 / 777 service vehicles (desirable)
· Forklift and dogging tickets (desirable)
· Basic computer skills for maintenance systems and reporting
· Experience working in an open pit mining environment (desirable)
· Strong commitment to safety, teamwork and continuous improvement
Experience working around equipment such as:
· Caterpillar 793 haul trucks
· D10 / D11 dozers
· 994 loaders
· Motor graders
will be highly regarded.
Please note: this role is not suited to trade-qualified Heavy Duty Mechanics or Automotive Trades seeking trade-based positions. This is a Service Technician role focused on planned maintenance servicing, inspections and field support activities.
Your work environment
This permanent role is based at Newmont’s Boddington mine, located approximately 130 km south of Perth in Western Australia. You will work a 7/7 roster with rotating day and night shifts, providing an excellent work–life balance. Village accommodation is provided during your roster.
