Surveyor - Mt Carlton

Macmahon is seeking an experienced Surveyor to support the recommencement of operations at Mt Carlton mine. Located approximately two hours south of Townsville, Mt Carlton is a gold silver operation preparing to transition from care and maintenance back into production. This restart presents a unique opportunity to contribute to the establishment of safe, efficient and sustainable operational practices from the outset.

This position operates on an 7 Days On / 7 Days Off roster, DIDO Only.

About The Role

• Conduct field surveys for pit designs, dig blocks, drill patterns, haul roads, dumps and rehabilitation areas
• Produce accurate survey pickups, volumes, and spatial data for planning and reporting
• Maintain mine survey control networks, monuments and reference points
• Set out designs, boundaries, blast patterns and infrastructure locations
• Process spatial data and generate plans, models and as-built records built records
• Ensure statutory survey compliance in accordance with mining legislation
• Maintain and calibrate survey equipment, UAVs and software systems
• Collaborate with Technical Services and Production teams to support operational decision-making making

About You

• Experience working as a Surveyor in surface mining (coal or hard rock)
• Diploma or Degree in Surveying, Spatial Science or equivalent qualifications
• Strong capability with survey instruments (GPS, total station, laser scanners, UAVs)
• Competency using relevant software (e.g., Maptek, Surpac, Civil 3D, Vulcan, Deswik)
• Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills solving skills
• Ability to work safely, independently and collaboratively across departments
• Strong communication skills and a proactive, solutions focused mindset focused mindset
