About the Role
We are seeking a Project Manager with strong experience in fleet programs, ideally involving ZEBs, EVs, rail fleets, or OEM integration. You will have a great understaning of EV technologies, battery systems, and charger standards. You will have experience in fleet transition planning including depot readiness, training, maintainability, operational impacts and charging behaviour.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate complex fleet programs, ideally involving Zero Emission Buses (ZEBs), EVs, rail fleets, or OEM-integrated solutions
- Manage fleet transition planning including depot readiness, charging strategies, workforce training, maintenance considerations, and operational impacts
- Oversee procurement activities including development of technical specifications, tender evaluations, negotiations, warranties, and whole-of-life asset assessments
- Support commissioning, testing, acceptance, homologation, and compliance activities
- Coordinate effectively with OEMs, operators, suppliers, maintenance facilities, and delivery partners
- Manage requirements, issues, risks, and schedules using appropriate project and systems tools
- Ensure strong Work Health & Safety (WHS) leadership in brownfield or live operational environments
- Maintain high-quality project documentation aligned with existing systems and templates, refining where required
- Develop and maintain checklists to assess phase readiness and delivery maturity
Skills & Experience
- 7–10 years’ experience managing fleet programs or complex transport assets
- Strong understanding of EV technologies, battery systems, charger standards, interoperability, telematics, cybersecurity, and functional safety
- Demonstrated experience in fleet procurement and whole-of-life asset management
- Practical experience in commissioning, testing, acceptance, and compliance processes
- Understanding of utility coordination, DNSP processes, grid connections, and feeder upgrades
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills across operators, OEMs, utilities, councils, regulators, contractors, and community stakeholders
- Proficiency with requirements management tools, issue tracking systems, MS Project, Excel, Power BI, and Microsoft 365 collaboration tools
- Ability to mobilise quickly and maintain accurate, high-quality project documentation
Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering
