Your impact
Reporting to the Director, Global Category Management and embedded within Newmont’s Global Supply Chain Operations team in Australia, in the position of Specialist, Camp and Travel you will:
- Develop and implement category and sourcing strategies, negotiate and facilitate favorable commercial agreements, and optimize sourcing plans to support global objectives and maximize cost reduction
- Manage global supplier relationships, develop and execute Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) programs, and ensure strong working relationships with suppliers for continuous improvement
- Serve as the day-to-day interface between business planning, technical services, and other stakeholders to drive contract value, pricing guidance, and achieve budgetary objectives
- Maintain awareness of market conditions, lead times, trends, risks, and emerging technologies, focusing on safety, automation, and technological advancements
- Proactively lead and coordinate the selection and handling of suppliers across safety, sustainability, and social performance objectives
- Apply and manage the utilization of the Request-to-Pay Standard and Category Management frameworks, ensuring compliance, governance, and alignment with stakeholders
- Lead the identification and capture of new savings opportunities, manage non-compliance, support Total Cost Ownership (TCO) initiatives, and ensure savings validation and reporting from each initiative
- Implement and support continuous improvement opportunities, execute procurement strategies, policies, and guidelines, and enhance procurement capability through training and knowledge sharing
- Lead strategic initiatives and portfolio management programs in synchronization with Integrated Business Planning
- Support the GCM framework through governance, processes, data requirements and external partnerships.
Prerequisites for your success in the role
- Degree qualification in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related discipline
- Deep expertise in strategic sourcing, category and portfolio management, procurement best practices and advanced negotiation strategies
- Strong capability in supplier relationship management, including assessment of supplier and contractor financial health and market trends
- Demonstrated experience in mining, life of mine environments and global asset intensive industries
- Proven ability to manage complex global projects, including developing and managing comprehensive forecasts and budgets
- High proficiency in SAP/SAP Ariba, Oniqua and other enterprise level systems
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Experience using data analytics and dashboarding tools – i.e. Power BI and Tableau
- Full and unrestricted Australian work rights essential.
Your work environment
This full-time equivalent position will be offered on a 12-month fixed term basis and will afford the successful candidate the flexibility to work fully remotely from within Australia.
