Civmec Balanced Machines Division has been awarded a number of machine projects. The machines are designed, fabricated, assembled, and tested at our state-of-the-art Henderson facility. There is a healthy pipeline of machine projects going forward which Civmec will be involved with.

We are seeking experienced Electrical Engineers and Senior Electrical Engineers to join this expanding team of professional Balanced Machines Engineers. The successful applicant will be part of a busy multi-discipline design and delivery team delivering some of exciting mining machine project for our clients.
You will enjoy a full project scope of work, including design, execution, and final completion at our clients’ sites throughout WA. Perth Based with optional office location - CBD or Henderson

The Role

Key Responsibilities

• Working closely with other disciplines and drafting teams (Designers, Engineers and Project Managers).
• Preparing conceptual and detailed electrical designs of various types of Balanced Machine including Stackers, Reclaimers and Shiploaders.
• Undertaking the preparation of Electrical and instrumentation deliverables including calculation reports and drawings.
• Generating equipment specifications and supporting equipment evaluation and procurement activities during project execution.
• Defining and recommending design methods, specifications, and performance of functional requirements for new projects.
• Support the development of less experienced Electrical and instrumentation team members.
• Occasional site trips (day trips) as required.
• Ensure compliance with Safety in Design principles in the E&I space.
• Engineering support to installation, construction and commissioning teams

About You / Requirements

• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, or similar. As well as working towards or already gained CPEng Accreditation.
• At least 5 years of experience in the conceptualization, Front End Engineering Design (FEED), and detailed design of automation and control systems for mining equipment.
• LV design experience (Power CAD proficient, LV MCC design, protection & co-ordination studies)
• Instrumentation and Automation hardware design experience
• Have a solid understanding of technical electrical, instrumentation and control principals relating to Balanced Machines.
• The ability to write technical documentation and communicate discipline requirements to other members of the project team
• Experience with EPLAN P8 is highly valued but not mandatory.
• Fundamental knowledge of functional safety concepts and related documentation.
• Familiarity with relevant Australian standards
