The Opportunity:

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Mining Engineer to join our operation on an 8D6X roster.  This role will require an effective communicator who is both strategic and hands-on and can engage effectively with individuals and teams across a diverse organisation.

Reporting to the Superintendent Technical Services, your primary responsibility will be to support our operational team in a dynamic work environment which requires you to roll up your sleeves and think on your feet. You will be accountable for site mine engineering and technical services, operational and mine reconciliation reports and the preparation and delivery of mining plans.

Key responsibilities

• Supporting mine design including pit, waste dump staging and modification, other  infrastructure design.
• Delivering D&B designs, load plans, tie-in plans, post blast analysis & heritage packs.
• Providing technical contribution to the development and submission of operational licenses  and approvals processes
• Acting as the primary owner of process and practice improvement between the mine planning and operations team
• Delivering the two week & Three week mine plans including development of planning inputs, stakeholder engagement, and summaries of physicals, outputs and future requirements.
• Providing project management support to small/medium scale projects
• Proactively identify risks and opportunities within the short‑term and tactical planning horizons, including relevant deep‑dives to support management decisions.

What is Required:

• Established experience within mine operations in the resources industry preferably in hard rock
• Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or related disciplines
• Unrestricted Quarry Manager’s ticket (preferred)
• Competency with major recognized mining design and scheduling software such as Surpac, APS, ATS or similar
• High degree of communication and analytical skills and strong organisational and problem solving abilities
