Acting as a key bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, you will translate operational needs into scalable, data driven solutions through strong stakeholder alignment, problem definition, and data readiness. Leveraging experience in mining, metallurgy, manufacturing, or resources, you will apply a practical, analytical approach to deliver insights that driver operational excellence and continuous improvement in complex, cross-functional environments.
This position is best suited to experienced practitioners with a proven track record of delivering outcomes in complex, cross-functional, industrial environments, not early career professionals.
Key Work Activities
- Translating business needs into clear data and analytic requirements as the link between stakeholders and technical teams.
- Partnering with Data Engineering and AI/ML teams to design and deliver fit-for-purpose data solutions.
- Contributing to development of processing data products aligned to operational and metallurgical requirements.
- Supporting implementation and adoption of new data processes and technologies across operational environments.
- Driving continuous improvement by identifying and enhancing data-enables workflows and decision-making practices.
Capabilities Required
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or similar, complimented by significant experience delivering business and data analysis outcomes in complex, industrial environments.
- Advanced stakeholder management and influencing capability, with the ability to engage credibly across site operations, senior leadership, and technical teams, aligning priorities and driving outcomes in cross function settings.
- Extensive experience in data and analytics delivery, including gathering and defining business requirements, complex problem solving, and process mapping, with a proven ability to translate business needs into scalable, value-driven data solutions.
- Strong commercial and operational acumen, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, challenge thinking, and deliver pragmatic, value-driven outcomes that support productivity and performance improvement.
- Proficiency in modern data and analytics ecosystems (e.g. SQL, Power BI, Databricks, cloud platforms), with experience in mining, resources, or heavy industry and familiarity with operational or metallurgical data highly regarded.
We understand no candidate will meet every single desired qualification. If your experience looks a little different from what we’ve identified and you think you can bring value to the role, we’d love to learn more about you!
