Principal Geotechnical Engineer

A senior opportunity for an experienced Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join a well-established mining operation delivering technically complex surface and underground projects across WA. This is a key leadership role offering autonomy, technical influence and long‑term project exposure on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Lead geotechnical input across surface and underground operations
• Slope stability assessments, ground support design and risk management
• Development and review of geotechnical models, designs and monitoring programs
• Provide operational support and incident investigation where required
• Liaising with mine planning, production, operations and external consultants
• Mentoring junior and site geotechnical engineers
• Ensuring compliance with statutory, safety and company standards

You will ideally have:

• Degree qualification in Geotechnical, Civil or Mining Engineering
• Chartered Professional Engineer (RPEQ / CPEng) or working towards
• Significant experience in both surface and underground mining
• Strong understanding of WA mining regulations and geotechnical risk management
• Practical experience with slope stability, ground support and monitoring systems
• Ability to influence, mentor and provide trusted technical leadership
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
