Northern Star Resources currently has a senior opportunity for a Paste Specialist to join our Jundee Operations on a permanent, full-time basis, working an ongoing 4:3 or 8:6 roster. Reporting to the Underground Manager, this role is ideal for someone with extensive pastefill experience, strong leadership capability, and the ability to influence positive change.

Here is what awaits you.

• Develop, lead and provide professional development guidance to the Paste Engineers.
• Development of safe procedures, processes, and systems of work to successfully implement pastefill operations at Jundee.
• Daily co-ordination and scheduling of all Paste infrastructure works and backfill requirements.
• Monitor daily performance of production and paste, and bring any trends or issues which may compromise the three month and/or budget schedule to the attention of the Underground Managers with options to rectify the situation.
• Design and establish suitable parameters (% binder, slump, tph, etc) for pouring paste ensuring efficiency and strength requirements are met.
• Design and update pressure flow models to indicate operating pressures and ensure safe operation.
• Management of underground contractors for Paste work where required. Ensure contractors complete tasks safely in the required timeframe and QAQC.
• Assist with capital projects design, management and execution.

To thrive in this role, you will need.

Experience: The ideal candidate will have strong working knowledge of pastefill operations, infrastructure planning, and contractor management, along with proven exposure to backfilling activities within a mechanised hard‑rock underground mining environment. They will also be a competent user of Deswik (or a similar mine planning software package) and VentSim.

Qualifications: Hold a tertiary qualification in Engineering, coupled with a current Australian C - Class manual Drivers licence.
