Northern Star Resources currently has a rare senior opportunity for a Mine Superintendent to join the team at our Carosue Dam Operations, working an ongoing 4/3 roster, on a permanent & full-time basis. Working in the Underground Mining division, this opportunity will suit a high‑performing mining professional who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and is passionate about leading operational excellence.
Here’s what awaits you:
- Develop, implement and maintain safe work procedures and promote high safety awareness.
- Oversee underground mining operations ensuring the principle of a duty of care to all employees, including contractors and visitors.
- Develop, implement and maintain procedures to ensure work is carried out safely and in an environmentally sustainable manner.
- Ensure robust production reporting, reconciliation, and improvement evaluation processes.
- Ensure effective communication of work and issues/conditions status takes place with delegate prior to departure from site.
- Lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure all activities are conducted to achieve lowest cost production.
- Assist in capital project planning, budgeting, and delivery.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to Graduate, Junior and Senior Mining Engineers in operational planning, safe work execution and practicality.
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
Experience:
Proven expertise in underground development and production within a mechanised hard-rock mining environment. Skilled in supervising mining operations teams and backed by extensive knowledge of contractor management.
Qualifications:
The candidate must possess a current WA Underground Shift Supervisor Certificate of Competency and a valid WA C-Class Driver's License.
