About the Role

Caval Ridge Mine is located in Queensland’s Bowen Basin on the traditional lands of the Barada Barna people.

We are currently seeking qualified and experienced Mechanical Fitters. As part of the maintenance crew, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and safety of heavy mining equipment and infrastructure.

This opportunity offers DIDO or FIFO from Brisbane or Cairns, working a 7/7 day–night rotating roster, giving you the space to balance work with the things that matter most in your life.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Conduct inspections, servicing, troubleshooting, and repairs of balance machines to maintain reliable operation.
  • Perform mechanical maintenance on Draglines, Electric Shovels and site Infrastructure including major component change outs.
  • Communicate clearly with team members and Supervisors regarding equipment issues, downtime, and work progress.
  • Follow established maintenance strategies, procedures, and safety requirements to ensure safe, compliant execution of work.
  • Complete all maintenance documentation and system data entries accurately and on time.

About You

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • You’re a qualified Mechanical Fitter (Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade).
  • You’re strongly committed to safety, effective teamwork, and performing under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • You bring proven skill in maintaining, repairing, and aligning mechanical plant and equipment to operational standards.
  • You have the ability to identify defects, diagnose issues, and apply practical, effective problem solving solutions.
  • You take pride in accurate inspections, data entry, and using maintenance management systems, with a strong drive to learn and continue developing your skills.
