Tradesperson - Fitter

About the Role

The Maintenance Fitter / Boilermaker at Cowal Mine is responsible for scheduled maintenance, repairs, and installations for non-processing infrastructure.

Key responsibilities include:

• Adhering to scheduled shifts and completing assigned tasks within the specified time frame
• Ensuring accurate job history and time confirmations in the Pronto system, and assisting with fault diagnostics and failure logging
• Actively participating in condition monitoring programs and maintaining site-provided tools in serviceable condition
• Communicating effectively with the supervisor to ensure tools and equipment are available and managing spare part requisitions.
• Contributing to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for safety and process enhancements and ensuring compliance with environmental protocols.
• Demonstrating commitment to health, safety, and security standards, and engaging in scheduled training as required.

About you

To be successful in this role, the following qualifications, experience, and competencies are required:

• Relevant trade certificate and/or industry experience (Boilermaker/Fitter), with a minimum of 3 years in a mining maintenance environment
• High Risk Work License (EWP/Forklift), Confined Space certification - desirable
• Current C class drivers licence – ability to drive a manual vehicle
• Boiler maker qualification with fitter experience is desirable
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Compliance with principal hazards, work management KPIs, and safety standards.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, relationship-building skills, and communication across departments.
• Proficiency with programs like Pronto, MS Word, and Excel, and ability to interpret plans and diagrams.
• Team-oriented, with a focus on delivering results safely while adhering to principles, values, and company procedures.
