Our Operations - Olympic Dam

Olympic Dam is one of the world's most significant deposits of copper, gold, and uranium. Located 560 kilometres north of Adelaide, South Australia, Olympic Dam is a part of our Minerals Australia operation. It's made up of underground and surface operations and operates a fully integrated processing facility from ore to metal.

Please note this position is based at Olympic Dam, operating on a 7/7 roster pattern arrangement with residential, FIFO from Adelaide or DIDO options available.

About the Role

An opportunity exists for a qualified Mechanical Maintenance Technician to work within our Olympic Dam Refinery, performing planned, unplanned and breakdown maintenance activities within the Refinery plant of our surface operations.

Please note this position is based at Olympic Dam, operating on a 7/7 day/night roster pattern roster arrangement with residential, FIFO (from Adelaide) and DIDO options available.

In this role you will:

• Comply to and consistently follow the standards and procedures designed to enable you to work safely and effectively every day
• Provide technical expertise within the team to facilitate planned, unplanned and or breakdown maintenance and preventative shut down maintenance
• Develop close working relationships with operations personnel to ensure that all plant downtime issues are escalated correctly and remedied promptly
• Provide continual feedback to the maintenance supervisor on job/task progress
• Develop and revise operating and maintenance procedure
• Communicate plant status to appropriate departments
• Maintain a high level of housekeeping in all work areas

About You

• Proven commitment to look after your own wellbeing and the confidence to speak up when others put themselves in harm's way
• Mechanical Trade qualifications (essential) - Experience in Pump rebuilds, laser alignment, hydraulic/ will an advantage.
• Ability to communicate effectively across multiple levels and functions.
• Previous experience working with hydraulic and pneumatics systems preferred.
• Previous experience working within an operational environment
• Ability to operate across multiple work-fronts ensuring you maintain and clean and tidy workplace
• Understanding of Quality Assurance principles and associated systems and practices
• Previous 1SAP Experience would be beneficial, but not essential
• Continues improvement attitude essential
