Description & Requirements

Monadelphous is seeking an experienced Lead Planner to join our Engineering Construction division, supporting a major mining and minerals project in Western Australia.

This is a key role within the Project Controls team, responsible for leading planning activities across a large-scale, multi-discipline project covering SMP and E&I scopes. The position will initially be based in our Perth office from May/June, before transitioning to site mid/late August on a 2:1 roster.

We are open to candidates based in any major Australian capital city.

With a strong pipeline of upcoming work, this is an excellent opportunity to contribute to high-value projects while playing a pivotal role in project delivery and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, implementation, and management of integrated project schedules across SMP and E&I scopes
  • Provide planning input and strategic guidance to pre-contracts and project execution teams
  • Monitor and analyse project progress, identifying risks and opportunities to ensure successful delivery
  • Develop and maintain detailed schedules in Primavera P6, including resource loading and critical path analysis
  • Support claims development, variations, and extension of time (EOT) assessments
  • Collaborate closely with project, commercial, and contracts teams to ensure alignment across all project functions
  • Mentor and support planners within the broader Project Controls team
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, systems, and reporting requirements

What You’ll Bring

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in a senior or lead planning role within construction or engineering projects
  • Advanced expertise in Primavera P6
  • Proven experience working with contractors on large-scale, multi-discipline projects (mining, minerals processing, materials handling, or oil & gas)
  • Strong understanding of SMP and E&I project lifecycles
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills across all organisational levels
  • Highly analytical with a methodical approach and strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated experience in schedule risk analysis, reporting, and claims support
