HD Mechanic - Metro

Experienced Heavy Diesel Fitters required for a metro-based workshop position specialising in small component rebuilds on CAT machines. This is a 7:7 roster days and nights offering stability, work–life balance, and hands-on technical work in a well-equipped workshop environment.

Daily Duties:

• Hands-on maintenance and rebuilds of CAT 793 dump trucks
• Strip, inspect, rebuild, and test components to OEM standards
• Inspect and measure internal parts against reusability guidelines.
• Accurately complete inspection and quality control documentation.
• Work as part of a skilled workshop team using industry-leading tooling and processes

What we're looking for:

You believe in fostering a positive work culture and ongoing growth, ensuring we always put our people first. 

• Certificate III in Heavy Diesel Fitting or Mobile Plant Technology required.
• Experience working on light vehicles forklifts, and small mobile plant equipment is advantageous.
• OEM training - CAT are highly regarded.
• High attention to detail required
• Forklift and HRWL licences are highly regarded
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, safety‑driven environment
• Currently hold valid Australian working rights
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to complete pre‑employment requirements
