Newmont APAC Operations are located in Western Australia, the Northern Territory, New South Wales and Papua New Guinea, with roles in operations, projects, corporate support and exploration. APAC Business Unit Support is provided from our offices in Brisbane, Subiaco and Melbourne.

As a Data Analyst, you will play a key role in identifying opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency across technical domains. You will work with stakeholders to gather and interpret requirements, develop data-driven insights, and recommend solutions that enhance operational performance. Through strong analytics and process-optimisation skills, you support strategic decision-making and contribute to the organization’s goals of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Key Work Activities
- Gathering and documenting business requirements, identifying opportunities for process improvement.
- Analysing operational data to detect trends and provide actionable insights through reports and dashboards.
- Developing process maps and models to highlight current workflows, bottlenecks, and optimisation opportunities.
- Working with cross-functional stakeholders to develop solutions that address business challenges and enhance processes.
- Supporting the implementation of new processes and technologies, contributing to continuous improvement and smooth change adaption.
Capabilities Required
- Formal education in Business Administration, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience demonstrating applied business analysis knowledge.
- Strong capability in requirements gathering, data analysis, process mapping, and using business analysis tools to support continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to follow structured procedures, apply practical judgement, solve problems through observation and trial-and-error, and refine workflows based on day-to-day experience.
- Proficiency with data and process-mapping software, reporting tools, and relevant documentation standards.
- Effective stakeholder engagement, collaboration, and self-awareness skills, with the ability to adapt behaviour, build productive relationships, and contribute to a positive team environment.
