About the Role

Reporting to the QA/QC Coordinator, this position is responsible for ensuring welding and coating activities meet all applicable standards, specifications, and client requirements.

You will play a key role in maintaining quality assurance processes, supporting inspections, and contributing to the overall performance and reliability of fabricated mining equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and project requirements across workshop activities
• Monitor and review QA/QC processes and procedures
• Review, develop and qualify welding procedures and welders as required to meet project requirements.
• Conduct and support inspection and testing of welding and surface treatment activities
• Assist with preparation, review, and control of QA/QC documentation (ITPs, MDRs, etc.)
• Liaise with internal teams to ensure quality standards are consistently achieved
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across QA/QC systems

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Trade qualification or Engineering qualification
• Welding Supervisor and/or Welding Inspector certification
• Proven experience in QA/QC within fabrication, mining, or heavy industry
• Strong knowledge of welding processes, inspection, and NDT requirements
• Experience interpreting and applying relevant Australian Standards
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality outcomes

Highly regarded:

• Coating Inspector certification
• Experience in surface treatment inspection and testing
• Leadership or supervisory training
