The Opportunity We are now seeking an Underground Electrical Technician to join our Underground Electrical Maintenance team in Sunrise Dam Gold Mine. Reporting to the Underground Electrical Maintenance Supervisor, you will provide frontline support and ensure all electrical works are carried out safely, timely, cost-effectively and with environmental responsibility.

This role is based at the Sunrise Dam Gold Mine on an 8 days on, 6 days off FIFO roster. We operate direct flights to our sites from Perth and Kalgoorlie.

Accountabilities:

• Doing repairs, maintenance and installation activities on infrastructure such as, motors, VSDs, transformers, substations, starter panels, distribution boards, RMU’s, ventilation fans, dewatering systems, instrumentation, communications, lighting, and other electrical systems
• Carrying out scheduled statutory requirements work safely and efficiently
• Installing and maintaining underground reticulation systems, ensuring reliable power distribution
• Conducting breakdown and maintenance tasks on underground drilling equipment to minimise downtime
• Studying plans, drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirement and sequence of repairs and or installations
• Availability after hours on a "Call Out" roster basis to respond to any equipment breakdown
• Assist with equipment maintenance shutdown or power isolation coordination and execution

• Unrestricted WA Electrical Licence (Essential)
• Electrical Instrumentation Certificate, PLCs and Automation experience (Desirable)
• Data cabler’s license advantageous
• Mining or heavy industry electrical maintenance experience (Essential)
• Underground Mining electrical maintenance experience is preferred
• Knowledge of the Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations, AS/NZS 3000 and other relevant Australian Standards
• Current High Voltage Switching certificate - however can assist with obtaining
• Computer literacy: Word, Excel, Microsoft Projects, and SAP
• WA ‘C’ Class manual driver's license
• Senior First Aid
• Existing and ongoing Permanent work rights in Australia (mandatory)
