About Cadia

Our Cadia Valley Operation in New South Wales is situated about 25 kilometers from Orange and 250 kilometers west of Sydney. Cadia produces gold doré bars from a gravity circuit and gold-rich copper concentrates from a flotation circuit. The operation includes the Cadia East Mine which is globally renowned for its use of block caving, a large-scale underground mining method.

Who we’re looking for
As a Team Lead Environment, you will play a key role in leading Cadia’s environmental monitoring programs and ensuring the effective collection, management and interpretation of environmental data across the operation.

You will coordinate, schedule and deliver environmental monitoring activities required for regulatory compliance, operational performance and due diligence. This includes overseeing monitoring across areas such as air quality, water, noise, blasting and meteorology, while ensuring monitoring programs are safe, consistent and aligned with best practice.

The role is responsible for maintaining robust monitoring systems, including data management and integrity, contractor coordination and the continuous improvement of monitoring processes. You will also provide technical expertise to support current and future monitoring requirements and help build capability within the team.

This is a leadership position overseeing a team of environmental monitoring professionals. You will work closely with operational teams, contractors and regulators to ensure monitoring programs provide reliable insights into environmental performance and support informed decision-making across the site.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop, manage, and deliver site-wide monitoring programs to meet compliance, due diligence, and approval requirements.
  • Oversee data integrity, reporting, and communication of monitoring outcomes to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Engage and manage specialist contractors, ensuring cost-effective and compliant service delivery.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reliability.
  • Support the development of team capability and promote safe, compliant monitoring practices across site.
  • Contribute technical expertise to regulatory and voluntary reporting and environmental planning.

The ideal candidate will bring strong technical capability, excellent stakeholder engagement skills, and a collaborative mindset.

You will also possess the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field (essential).
  • Proven experience in environmental monitoring, data management (ie. MonitorPro), and compliance reporting (essential).
  • Experience in mining operations or large industrial environments (essential)
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical data into actionable insights.
  • A focus on health, safety, and continuous improvement in everything you do.

Please note this is a residential 5/2 or 5/2-4/3 role in Orange NSW
