About the Role
Gold Fields Australia is currently seeking a Superintendent: Projects, responsible for leading and delivering site-based projects within a large-scale open pit and underground gold mining operation.
As the Superintendent Projects, you will ensure all project activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with Gold Fields’ operational standards, production targets, and sustainability commitments.
The Opportunity:
You’ll work closely with a diverse team to drive on-site innovation and tech projects from start to finish, keeping them on budget, on time, and up to top standards in quality, safety, and sustainability.
You’ll make a meaningful impact by adding value to our Technical Services team at Granny Smith.

What You’ll Do
- Lead execution of capital and sustaining projects across mining and infrastructure areas
- Ensure project deliverables align with the life-of-mine plan and operational priorities
- Coordinate closely with open pit, underground, and processing teams to minimize disruption to production
- Plan and allocate labour, equipment, and materials in line with site constraints
- Monitor and control project budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities
- Lead tech and cross-department projects using a proven PM framework driving safety, structure, and delivery excellence from planning to handover.
About You / Requirements
- Practical experience working within mining or mineral processing operations
- Possess or working towards qualifications in Project Management
- Demonstrated experience in a project/leadership position within a mining, civil or infrastructure environment.
- Passionate about innovation and technology
- Exposure to Microsoft Project, AutoCAD and Sensei be advantageous.
- Valid Driver’s Licence is essential
- Strong background in delivering complex projects and driving change
Qualifications & Certifications
- Possess or working towards qualifications in Project Management
- Valid Driver’s Licence (essential)
