About the role
As a Storeperson within the Supply & Logistics Department at Mount Isa Mines, you will play an important role in supporting the safe and efficient movement of materials across site operations. Reporting to the Supervisor – Supply, this residential position operates on a 5/2, 4/3 roster and is based at the Mount Isa Mines. You will be responsible for day to day warehouse and inventory activities, ensuring materials are received, stored, issued, and recorded accurately to meet operational requirements. Working closely with internal stakeholders, transport providers, and contractors, you will contribute to reliable supply outcomes while maintaining a clean, organised, and compliant warehouse environment that aligns with site procedures and safety standards.
Key responsibilities:
- Safely performing day-to-day warehouse and inventory management activities in accordance with site procedures and safety standards.
- Receiving, checking and recording inbound materials, including verification against purchase orders and delivery documentation.
- Picking, issuing and dispatching materials accurately to meet operational requirements
- Maintaining accurate inventory records through approved systems (e.g. ERP/inventory management systems)
- Conducting stock counts, cycle counts and assisting with stocktakes as required.
- Operating forklift, light vehicles and other approved equipment in accordance with licences, procedures and risk assessments
- Ensuring materials are stored, handled and transported safely to prevent damage, loss or incidents.
- Identifying and escalating inventory discrepancies, damaged goods or safety hazards
- Maintaining a clean, organised and compliant warehouse environment
- Engaging professionally with internal stakeholders, transport providers and contractors.
About you – skills and experience:
You are a safety focused and reliable Storeperson who takes pride in accuracy, organisation, and supporting site operations through disciplined warehouse and inventory practices.
You will bring
- Heavy Rigid (HR) driver’s licence (Highly regarded but not critical)
- Qualification in warehousing or logistics. (Highly regarded but not critical)
- Previous experience in warehousing, supply, logistics or inventory control within an industrial, mining, or large organisational environment (desirable)
- Sound numeracy, literacy and attention to detail to ensure accuracy of inventory and documentation.
- Demonstrate commitment to working safely and following procedures
- Ability to operate computer systems and maintain accurate electronic records
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- A proactive attitude with a focus on continuous improvement and quality service
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Current C-Class manual driver’s license (mandatory)
- Current High Risk Work License – LF (forklift) (Mandatory)
