Site Engineer - Main Roads

Our client is a specialist provider of road and bulk earthworks civil construction and project management across Queensland. With a strong regional presence and growing pipeline of capital works projects, they are now seeking a Project Engineer to join their Cairns based team. The company has a strong reputation in the QLD market for high quality project delivery, approachable and hands on management, as well as excellent systems and work methods within the Roads sector.

We are open to candidates based in surrounding regions, including Townsville, or those willing to relocate to Cairns for the role.

Job Description
This role will see you working across highway and municipal road works including upgrades and maintenance projects, supporting delivery from planning through to completion, with a strong on-site presence.

• Acting as the on-site Project Engineer/Inspector embedded with the contractor team
• Coordinating and overseeing daily site activities from commencement through to completion
• Liaising closely with Project Managers, HSE teams and subcontractors
• Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with TMR specifications
• Monitoring project costs, forecasting and reporting
• Driving safety standards and ensuring site compliance

About you

• Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering
• 5+ years on TMR/Main Roads projects in an on-site Project Engineer, Inspector or Consultant capacity
• Proven experience working alongside contractors with full project lifecycle exposure
• Ability to work independently while supporting senior team members
