- Assist with blast volume calculations, production reporting, and ground control monitoring.
- Collaborate with Mining, Geology, Operations, HSE, and support environmental and rehabilitation surveys.
- Coordinate with survey contractors and consultants.
- Translate technical discussions during meetings and prepare concise summary reports for relevant technical stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, site, and safety requirements while promoting a strong safety culture.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Degree or Diploma in Surveying, or equivalent mine surveying experience.
- Significant experience in open pit mining surveying.
- Fluent Mandarin and English (essential).
- Ability to provide basic technical translation between Mandarin and English-speaking mining professionals, and to prepare written technical summaries in Mandarin.
- Previous experience with mine survey / planning software (e.g. Surpac, Deswik, Datamine, Micromine).
- Strong numerical skills, attention to detail, and survey accuracy.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work across different cultures.
- Highly regarded: exposure to phosphate or flat-lying orebody operations, grade control, drill & blast, or stockpile reconciliation experience.
What you'll get in return
You will join a dynamic, open-minded and forward-thinking leadership team as they embark on the development of a new phosphate mining project in the Northern Territory. This is a unique opportunity to contribute from the ground up and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of a major mining operation.
