Senior Planner

We are working with a Tier 1 mining company and are seeking a Senior Planner for a 12 month assignment.

Roster: Monday to Friday - 38 Hour per week Perth CBD Location

Start: ASAP start

Length: 12 months with potential to extend for the right person

Hourly rate: $90.00 - $110.00 p/h + Super depending on experience

The Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering complex, large-scale projects, contributing to innovative and future-focused initiatives.

Reporting to the Planning Manager, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining and analysing project schedules to ensure successful project delivery.

You will work closely with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, providing insights into project performance, identifying risks, and supporting strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain master and detailed project schedules
• Perform critical path analysis and "what-if" scenario modelling
• Cost and resource load schedules
• Conduct schedule health checks and ensure planning standards are met
• Implement and manage Earned Value Management (EVM), including CPI & SPI analysis
• Analyse and integrate contractor schedules into the master program
• Monitor progress, identify trends and provide early warnings on risks
• Prepare weekly and monthly project reports
• Participate in planning workshops, risk reviews and change management processes

Experience:

• Minimum 10+ years' experience in project planning
• Strong experience across the full project lifecycle (ideally client-side)
• Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6
• Solid understanding of EVM principles (CPI, SPI)
• Experience within mining, energy, or major infrastructure projects
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
