My client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead a major AWS migration and cloud transformation initiative. This is a high‑impact contract role delivering medium to large‑scale infrastructure and systems upgrades within a structured government environment.
Your new role
The Project Manager will lead the delivery of medium to large‑scale infrastructure and systems upgrade initiatives within the approved forward work program, ensuring outcomes are achieved within scope, schedule and budget. This includes projects involving commercial off‑the-shelf (COTS) solutions, new system development, and enhancements to existing platforms.
The role will have a strong focus on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Responsibilities:
- Lead end‑to‑end AWS migration projects, from planning through cutover and BAU transition
- Deliver projects on time, within scope and budget across complex environments
- Manage strong governance including SteerCo reporting, RAID logs, financials and vendor accountability
- Engage senior stakeholders, service providers and delivery teams to achieve agreed outcomes
- Oversee commercial and contractual aspects, including vendor management and milestones
- Ensure quality project documentation and adherence to delivery methodology
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience delivering AWS migration projects in utilities or government environments
- Strong background in cloud strategy, governance and operational risk management
- Demonstrated success managing cutovers and platform transitions into BAU
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and reporting capability
- Experience working within hybrid Agile and structured delivery frameworks
- Relevant tertiary qualification (degree minimum)
