We operate two long-life assets: Golden Grove in Western Australia and Capricorn Copper in Queensland, along with a portfolio of exploration interests, including a strategic tenement package and project in Redhill, Chile.

Capricorn Copper is a high-grade underground mining operation producing copper and silver. Following an extreme weather event, operations were suspended; however, significant investment is underway to support recovery and expansion. A Restart Study team has also been formed to progress the mine’s journey towards a safe restart of operations.

The Queensland Government has declared the Capricorn Copper Recovery and Extension Project a prescribed and critical infrastructure project, reinforcing its support for the mine’s full return to operation.

About the Opportunity

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Control Systems Engineer to join our Capricorn Copper operation near Mount Isa in Queensland. This site-based role forms part of our Maintenance and Restart teams, reports to the Electrical Maintenance & Compliance Superintendent, and operates on an 8 roster.

Your focus will be on maintaining and optimising the site's distributed control system (DCS) to reduce process variance, support operations, and drive process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing and optimising the site’s DCS for reliable plant operations.
• Overseeing system maintenance, updates, licensing, and liaising with the DCS OEM (Rockwell).
• Driving automation and control improvements to reduce process variability and boost efficiency.
• Delivering project management and technical input for DCS-related CAPEX and upgrades.
• Collaborating with site and group teams to share knowledge and improve performance.
• Providing remote support during the wet season, with time off in lieu (TOIL) offered in the dry season.

About You

Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in control systems engineering, including expertise with DCS platforms (e.g., Rockwell, Honeywell, Citect), as well as operational experience in a base metals or similar concentrator.

Qualifications & Certifications

• Tertiary qualification in Control Systems or Computer Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Current C-class manual driver’s licence.
