Expression of Interest | Surveyors and Senior Surveyors

Thiess is seeking expressions of interest from Surveyors and Senior Surveyors to join our team on our Queensland sites. If you are looking for your next site based role and want to be considered as vacancies arise, we would love to hear from you.

Roster options include 8/6 and 5/2/4/3.

What you will be doing (Surveyor)

• Set out designs and provide guidance to production teams to ensure safe, compliant mining to plan
• Complete pickup and as-built surveys and maintain accurate survey records
• Calculate and report volumes for month end and operational reporting
• Survey active excavation areas to support reconciliation and progress tracking
• Support statutory plans and compliance reporting
• Maintain survey databases and equipment calibration
• Work closely with Mining Engineers, Geologists and site stakeholders

Additional scope (Senior Surveyor)

• Lead daily survey activities and prioritise deliverables
• Provide coaching and technical support to Surveyors and Graduates
• Drive data quality, standards and continuous improvement
• Partner with Technical Services and site leadership on risk and compliance

What you will bring

• Mine surveying experience within open cut coal and or hard rock operations
• Relevant surveying qualification or equivalent
• Understanding of mining principles and design concepts
• Experience with survey software such as Maptek Vulcan and Point Studio
• Photogrammetry and RPAS experience highly regarded
• Strong safety focus and attention to detail
