Our client is currently seeking a Sales Representative to join their Sydney team.

This role is suited to someone who is comfortable working with numbers, data, and technical assumptions, and who enjoys supporting investment decisions, project evaluation, and new business development, rather than purely transactional sales.

You will work closely with senior management and external partners to assess opportunities, analyse business cases, and support the execution of trading and investment-related activities.

About the Role

This position will be responsible for supporting and developing business activities across mining solutions and metal & mineral trading operations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Support new business development initiatives in the resources, mining, energy, and related sectors
• Conduct quantitative analysis of new projects, including profitability, cost structures, and risk factors
• Prepare business cases, financial models, and scenario analyses for internal decision-making
• Support trading-related activities for metals, minerals, and raw materials through data analysis and reporting
• Assist with budget management, forecasting, and performance tracking
• Prepare reports and presentations for senior stakeholders using Excel and PowerPoint
• Coordinate with internal teams and external counterparties, including mining companies, manufacturers, technology providers, and consultants

Skills and Experience

We are looking for a candidate who demonstrates the following:

• Business-level Japanese and strong English communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management capabilities
• Interest or experience in the mining, metals, resources, or energy sector (scientific or technical background highly regarded)
• Strong commercial awareness and a proactive, solution-focused mindset
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
