About the Role
As a Mine Surveyor (Open Pit) at Cowal Gold Operation, NSW, you will provide critical technical support to ensure the accuracy, integrity and reliability of survey data across an active mining operation.
Working an 8:6 roster (12 hour day shifts), this role is focused on QAQC, data processing and continuous improvement, supporting safe and efficient mine execution. You will act as a key technical point of contact for survey related matters, while also mentoring Survey Technicians and contributing to team capability.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ownership of QAQC and survey data integrity
- Reviewing survey outputs, reconciliation and reporting
- Supporting and mentoring Survey Technicians
- Maintaining survey control systems, datums and data governance
- Driving improvements in survey workflows, systems and technology
- Supporting operations, engineering and geology teams with accurate survey data

About You
you are a detail oriented Mine Surveyor with strong mining experience and a passion for data quality, systems and continuous improvement.
You bring sound technical capability and enjoy working in a role where you can take ownership, support others and contribute to operational outcomes.
To be successful, you will have:
- A recognised qualification in Surveying
- Experience within mining environments (open pit or underground)
- Strong capability in QAQC and survey data validation
- Proficiency in Deswik (essential); photogrammetry experience advantageous
- Exposure to GNSS, RPAS and survey technologies
- RePL (drone licence) or willingness to obtain
You will also demonstrate:
- A proactive, improvement focused mindset
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
- Ability to mentor and support developing team members
- Solid communication and stakeholder engagement skills
