We are currently seeking a Senior Data Analyst to join our Integrated Planning team in our Perth CBD office. This is an exciting opportunity to work across Fortescue’s integrated metals value chain, applying advanced analytics, operational diagnostics and operational insight to support critical business decisions and unlock value across mining, rail, port and processing operations.

About the Role
In this role, you will use operational analysis, modelling and data-driven problem solving to support planning, productivity improvement and operational optimisation initiatives across the business. You’ll partner closely with operational and technical stakeholders to solve complex supply chain challenges and deliver meaningful insights that influence decision-making at scale.
You will be part of a team that supports planning and decision-making across Fortescue’s integrated value chain, helping translate operational data into practical insights for mine, rail, port and processing stakeholders.
This is a collaborative and highly visible role suited to someone who enjoys combining technical capability with practical business impact. This role is not just about producing analysis; it is about helping the business understand operational trade-offs and make better decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse operational and supply chain performance to support planning and optimisation initiatives
- Assess the impact of productivity improvements, capital projects and operational changes across integrated operations
- Develop and maintain analytical tools, reporting solutions and repeatable analysis processes
- Conduct quantitative analysis to support operational decision-making
- Work with large operational datasets to identify trends, constraints and opportunities
- Support planning cycles through analysis, assumptions reviews and capacity assessments
- Communicate insights and recommendations to operational stakeholders across the business
- Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to drive outcomes and continuous improvement
- Mentor and support the development of less experienced team members
Qualifications and Experience
About You
You are naturally curious, highly analytical and motivated by solving complex operational problems. You thrive in collaborative environments and can translate technical findings into clear, actionable insights for a broad audience.
You will also bring:
- Experience in operational analytics, supply chain analysis, data analytics or a related field
- Strong capability in SQL for data extraction, transformation, analysis and quality checking, with Python experience highly regarded.
- Experience with capacity analysis, operational diagnostics, visualisation and reporting to support planning and operational decision-making.
- Experience developing analytical tools, reports or interactive applications using platforms such as Streamlit, Snowflake, and GitHub.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities and proactively drive outcomes
- Experience within mining, processing, rail, port or integrated supply chain environments will be highly regarded
- Degree qualification in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Science or a related discipline
