About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced Principal Ventilation Engineer to help deliver practical, high‑impact technical solutions that support our clients and stakeholders. This is a collaborative, hands‑on role where you’ll apply best‑practice ventilation engineering to add value across both new and existing operations. You’ll take the lead in ventilation design, governance and operational support, contributing your expertise across our global mining portfolio.
This role is based out of our office in St Georges Terrace in Perth CBD however ad hoc Australian and International travel is required.

Key Duties:
- Champion a strong safety culture by providing visible leadership, maintaining a safe working environment, and actively supporting the company’s commitment to zero harm for people, environment and community.
- Coach, mentor and provide technical guidance to team members, supporting capability building and career development.
- Contribute to business growth initiatives and support broader strategic objectives.
- Review, develop and maintain ventilation management plans in line with operational and regulatory needs.
- Participate in incident investigations, risk assessments and root cause analysis
- Ensure compliance with internal standards, regulatory requirements and governance frameworks.
- Develop, review, and maintain ventilation management plans
- Lead ventilation audits, modelling, and Ventsim reviews
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and site ventilation standards
- Provide technical input into fan design, escapeways, and airflow optimisation
- Support incident investigations, risk assessments, and root cause analysis
- Partner with site teams to implement ventilation best practices
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to site engineers
- Support ventilation design for new declines, expansions, and tenders
Key Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering (or equivalent); FCMM Certificate highly regarded.

Extensive underground ventilation engineering experience (10+ years), with strong site‑based exposure to studies and design

Proven leadership capability, including a minimum of 5 years supervising teams

Strong analytical, stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including technical report writing

High‑level proficiency in ventilation and mining software, including Ventsim/VUMA and specialist tools such as Vulcan, Deswik, MineSight, Surpac or similar.
