Marine Designated Person Ashore

Cape Preston Port Company (CPPC) is seeking experienced Marine Designated Person Ashore to join our Port Operations team.  This position is a permanent fulltime role based in our Perth head office on St Georges Terrace.

Reporting to the Manager – Technical Shipping, the initial 18 months will be heavily focused on document review of the safety management system.

Following this, the role is responsible for;

• Oversight of the compliance and review of the Companies Safety Management Systems and ensure compliance with Australian and International Regulatory Codes and rules.
• Undertaking of Designated Person Ashore Roll for the Companies ISM / DOC Systems
• Undertaking of Company Security Officer Role for the Marine Fleet
• Undertaking Internal audits

Successful applicant will have:

• Master Class 1 certificate or Engineer Class 1 certificate
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the marine industry with sea going experience
• Minimum of 5 years’ as in a senior shore-based role
• Designated Person Ashore Qualification
• Ship Security Officer Qualification
• A current WA C Class (manual) Drivers Licence
• Ability to obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC)
• Internal Audit Qualification
