At our Group Office

Working in our Group Office, you have a front row seat to our vision and are a part of the bold, inspired teams who are engineering its success. We’re an agile, entrepreneurial company and we value smart people and creative thinking. When you work with us, you’ll always have the opportunity to progress from where you started. Based in the Sydney CBD, our people work with teams located across Australia and Canada which makes for interesting work and countless ways to learn and grow.

At Evolution, we support, develop and reward everyone who chooses to be a part of our bright future. Your benefits include relocation support assistance, novated car leasing, life insurance and income protection, short term incentives, referral bonuses, recognition program, study assistance, discounted health insurance and wellness days.

This role will work a 5/2 roster from the Sydney office with 2 days WFH option available.

We understand that flexible work means something different to everyone and encourage you to have a conversation about the flexible work options available.

About the Role

This is a rare chance to step into a role that genuinely shapes how a whole finance function works, grows and connects. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller and working closely with senior leaders across finance and IT, you will lead a program of change that lifts capability, strengthens processes and prepares the organisation for a future ERP.

You will guide a small but impactful team, work across corporate and site finance, and help bring clarity, consistency and direction to a complex environment that is ready for improvement and ready for someone who knows how to make things stick.

A few things that make this role stand out:

  • Lead a broad, multi‑stream improvement portfolio spanning shared services, month end, general accounting, payroll, reporting, planning cycles and process automation
  • Influence senior decision‑makers while also staying close to the people doing the work, ensuring changes land well and stay embedded
  • Own delivery, governance and prioritisation, with the freedom to shape standards, uplift documentation and drive cross‑site alignment

If you enjoy variety, visibility and the chance to take a good organisation and make it even better, this role will keep you energised.

About You

You’re experienced, steady under pressure and at your best when navigating complexity. You bring a strong background in finance process improvement, program or project leadership, and you’ve worked closely with both finance and IT teams. You are confident switching between agile and waterfall, depending on what’s required, and you know how to build relationships that support genuine change.

You most likely have:

  • A relevant degree in finance, accounting, commerce, business, IT or project management, with additional qualifications an advantage
  • Hands‑on experience improving finance processes and leading transformation projects across areas like month end, reporting, payroll, or shared services
  • Exposure to ERP environments and an understanding of what sets an implementation up for success

You are motivated to take ownership, shape direction and feel the impact of your work long after the project kick‑off. You enjoy bringing people along with you, simplifying the complex and creating structure where it’s needed. Most importantly, you value teams that are open, solutions‑focused and genuinely collaborative.

If this sounds like you, this role will give you the scope, influence and challenge you’re looking for.
