IPS Supply Support Lead

The Opportunity
Our client, a leading defence maritime organisation, is looking for a seasoned Supply Support Lead to drive the planning, coordination, and execution of supply support activities within a complex, long‑term shipbuilding program. This position oversees a team responsible for provisioning, sparing, BOM governance and inventory readiness, ensuring vessels are fully supported throughout their operational life.
You’ll operate at the crossroads of engineering, logistics and sustainment, bringing together supply data, maintenance requirements and technical information while managing obsolescence, warranty exposure and broader supply chain vulnerabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end supply support planning, provisioning and sustainment functions.
• Ensure vessel equipage, outfitting requirements and BOM structures remain accurate and up to date.
• Align IPS Supply Support elements with ERP, maintenance and engineering systems.
• Maintain high standards of cataloguing, codification and warehouse data integrity.
• Identify and mitigate supply support risks, including warranty and obsolescence challenges.
• Develop team capability and contribute to supplier performance uplift.
• Support the creation of sustainment documentation and program deliverables.

Skills & Experience

Essential

• Eligibility to obtain and hold an Australian Government Baseline Security Clearance.

• Degree in Engineering, Logistics, Maritime Operations or a related discipline.

• 8+ years of experience delivering IPS/ILS supply support within defence or maritime programs.

• Strong knowledge of IPS Supply Support methodologies and Defence Logistic Support Analysis.

• Familiarity with DEF(AUST) 5691 or comparable logistic support standards.

• Experience working with ASDEFCON frameworks, including provisioning and sustainment artefacts.

  Desirable

• Background in leading teams within technical or logistics environments.

• Experience with ERP, PLM or maintenance management systems.

• Strong stakeholder engagement across engineering, logistics and supply chain groups.
