Finding better ways™ to move our people forward

We’re inviting students from Geoscience disciplines to join us in roles across our Iron Ore business.  Applicants must be currently studying either:

  • Master of Science in Mining Geology, Geoscience, Geophysics or Economic Geology

  • Bachelor of Science or Applied Science with a major in Geology, Geoscience, Applied Geology, Geophysics or Earth Science

Our Intern Program offers you the chance to help shape Rio Tinto from within. The 12-week Summer Internship Program provides hands-on experience, with the potential to secure a graduate position upon completion.

Where you will be working

In the Pilbara region of Western Australia, we own a world-class, integrated network of 18 mines, 4 independent port terminals, a rail network spanning nearly 2,000 kilometers and related infrastructure – all designed to respond rapidly to changes in demand. We are one of the world’s leading producers and exporters of iron ore.

Eligibility

  • Intern Program – penultimate year or students in 2nd or 3rd year

  • Have the right to work in Australia or New Zealand (citizens, permanent residents, student or postgraduate work visa holders)

  • Must be available for FIFO (Fly-In, Fly-Out) and Perth-based opportunities
