The Dalgaranga Mine is a high‑grade underground gold operation centred on the Never Never and Pepper deposits, with mining conducted by longhole open stoping with paste fill. With a solid 10-year mine life supported by strong exploration momentum and a solid production outlook, Dalgaranga plays a key role in Ramelius’ long-term growth strategy.

About the Role The Geotechnical / Paste Engineer is responsible for supporting safe and efficient underground mining through the integration of geotechnical engineering and paste fill systems. The role focuses on ground control design, monitoring, and risk management, while also supporting paste fill design, QA/QC, and performance optimisation.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Calculate, model & verify paste fill strength requirements to support stope stability and maintain barricade integrity during and after filling
• Conduct laboratory test work, QA/QC and manage specialist contractor output
• Monitor paste fill behaviour, including dilution, curing performance, and interaction with surrounding ground conditions
• Deliver day-to-day geotechnical support including inspections, monitoring, data collection, and analysis
• Identify and manage geotechnical risks across development and production areas
• Investigate ground or paste‑related incidents and contribute to incident reporting and corrective actions
• Provide ground support and sequencing recommendations to operations
• Collect, interpret, and maintain geotechnical data and monitoring systems
• Support mine planning and scheduling with Geotechnical and paste-related inputs
• Collaborate with Mining, Paste Plant, and Technical Services teams

About You
You are a technically strong Geotechnical / Paste Engineer with hands‑on underground mining experience and a practical approach to ground control and paste backfill. You are comfortable working close to operations, translating geotechnical and paste design assumptions into safe, workable outcomes, and collaborating with mining, planning, and paste plant teams. You bring a strong safety focus, attention to detail, and the ability to balance technical rigour with operational realities in a production environment.

To excel in this role, you will need:

• Degree qualification in Geotechnical Engineering, Mining Engineering, or related discipline
• Experience in underground hard‑rock mining, preferably in stoping operations
• Practical understanding of ground control principles, support systems, and geotechnical risk management
• Experience with paste fill systems, including strength design, curing behaviour, and barricade performance is essential
• Strong capability in paste fill QA/QC, including sample collection, test result interpretation, and performance monitoring
• Experience conducting underground inspections and providing clear, actionable recommendations
• Ability to interpret geotechnical data and contribute to stope design and mine planning
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with Mining, Paste Plant, and Technical Services teams
