Geotechnical Engineer

About the Role

In this site‑based geotechnical role, you will work closely with mine operations, planning, and geology teams to deliver safe, effective, and value‑adding engineering solutions. You will be responsible for monitoring geotechnical conditions, contributing to mine design, and ensuring compliance with industry best practices and site safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct geotechnical inspections, mapping, and monitoring across open‑pit and/or underground environments
• Provide recommendations on ground support, slope stability, and hazard management
• Collect, interpret, and analyse geotechnical data to inform tactical and strategic mine design decisions
• Prepare and review geotechnical documentation, including hazard plans, reports, and design inputs
• Implement geotechnical risk mitigation strategies in collaboration with operational personnel
• Ensure all activities align with site safety standards and regulatory requirements
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in geotechnical processes and mine safety culture

About You

• Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering or related discipline
• Experience in open pit and/or underground mining geotechnical engineering
• Strong understanding of geotechnical monitoring tools, slope stability concepts, and underground ground support
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
• Proactive, safety‑focused, and solutions‑driven mindset
• Ability to work an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth
