Financial Accountant (Treasury)

Karara Mining Limited (KML) is an Ansteel Group company formed as a joint venture with Gindalbie Metals Limited. Ansteel is one of the largest iron ore producers and steel makers in China. Located 200km south-east of Geraldton, Western Australia, Karara is the largest mining operation and the first major magnetite mine in the Mid-West. It produces a premium, high-grade concentrate product for export to steelmakers.

The opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant (Treasury) to join our Finance team in the Perth CBD office.

This role manages parent entity financial statements, ensures tax compliance, and develops financial systems and policies. It also supports the CFO and Treasury Manager with debt financing, daily treasury operations, and Group reporting and analysis.

To be successful in the role, the following is essential:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
• Proven experience in a comparable financial accounting role
• Strong financial expertise with hands-on treasury management experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English - Proficiency in Chinese is highly regarded but not essential
• Working knowledge of SAP systems and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
• National Police clearance

Key responsibilities include: Budgeting & Treasury Analyst

• Consolidate financial and operational data to build cash flow forecasts and support budgeting
• Prepare and monitor annual/monthly budgets, cash flow plans, and variance analysis for management
• Manage daily cash flow, bank accounts, FX transactions, and financing arrangements
• Oversee term deposits, corporate cards, bank guarantees, and ensure accurate treasury records
• Support audits, regulatory reporting, and ad hoc financial analysis for management and parent company
