We are looking for a collaborative and adaptable Senior Environmental Advisor to support the delivery of key mining and decarbonisation approvals across our operations.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic environment, building strong relationships and contributing to meaningful environmental outcomes that support responsible resource development.

Reporting to the Manager Environment | Sustaining Approvals, you will play an important role in preparing high-quality environmental approvals documentation and supporting the delivery of sustaining approvals for operational sites.

Working closely with technical specialists, planners and operational teams, you will help ensure approvals are delivered efficiently, accurately and in alignment with business objectives.

Success in this role will come from your ability to manage changing priorities, communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and contribute positively within a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare high-quality Mine Development and Closure Proposals for operational sites
  • Develop approvals documentation under Part V of the Environmental Protection Act 1986, including:
    • emissions and discharge approvals
    • native vegetation clearing approvals
  • Contribute to environmental risk assessments that inform approval applications
  • Support approvals processes under the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2017
  • Assist with development of approvals advice based on business scoping documents
  • Coordinate with subject matter experts to ensure quality and timely technical inputs
  • Work with schedulers and project teams to maintain accurate approvals schedules
  • Identify and escalate risks to approvals timelines and contribute practical solutions

Qualifications & Certifications

  • Experience in environmental management within the resources, energy or related sectors
  • Experience preparing environmental approvals documentation, ideally within Western Australia
  • Knowledge of WA environmental and mining legislation
  • Understanding of environmental approvals processes and implementation
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Excellent report writing and stakeholder engagement capabilities
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and GIS applications
  • Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or a related discipline

About You / Requirements

  • Experience in environmental management within the resources, energy or related sectors
