ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a Permanent position on a 9-day fortnight roster. This role will be based at our Worsley Alumina Refinery which is a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (35 minutes) and other nearby scenic communities.

As there is no accommodation on site, you will be required to drive in, drive out on a daily basis. Employees ideally live within an hour’s drive of Collie. 

As the Engineer Senior Mechanicalyou will be responsible for managing a small team of mechanical engineers as well as supporting the delivery of high‑quality mechanical design outcomes across capital and operational work, ensuring alignment with stakeholder needs, standards and safety‑in‑design principles.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

• Delivering assigned design and engineering work packages to agreed scope, time and quality expectations
• Mentoring and coaching mechanical engineers to support capability growth and consistent delivery
• Coordinating workloads and providing input into forward resource and capacity planning
• Managing and reviewing work completed by external consultants and engineering service providers
• Maintaining and improving mechanical standards, specifications and deviation processes
• Providing construction support, commissioning leadership and technical input through to handover

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:  

• Delivering mechanical design work across the full lifecycle in brownfield or heavy industry environments
• Guiding, mentoring and influencing others through collaborative and inclusive working practices
• Managing multiple stakeholders, including consultants and contractors, with clarity and diplomacy
• Applying sound judgement, attention to detail and a strong safety focus in technical decision‑making

Qualifications for this position are:  

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Eligible for Chartered Membership of Engineers Australia
